Keep Walking

It is the end of a long day of work and you are looking forward to your routine evening walk around the block. If this is you, then you have developed a routine. A good routine is a daily or weekly activity that you are enthusiastic about and can look forward to. This is exciting because you have become enthusiastic about going out and being active. Additionally recent studies have begun to uncover the neurological benefits of regular activity in reducing the effects of stress. 

Have you ever noticed how upbeat you feel after having completed your daily physical routine? Or how anxious you feel if you have not been able to get out for you daily activities? This is because for quite some time it has been assumed that there is a link between physical activity and your perception of positive feelings. Now researchers are beginning to gain evidence that this has merit. Recent studies are finding that someone who is routinely active develops a cushion around their neurological cells. This cushion may prevent your cells from experiencing the full effects of stress, along with enabling you to remain calmer and further in control of yourself during stressful situations.

Researchers still do not fully understand the full effects of routine physical activity, and what it does to the human mind. But even without the research many people will tell you that they feel more relaxed after their daily routines. So continue to build upon your enthusiasm for whatever physical activity you have develop for yourself, because it is becoming more obvious that this is nature’s way of defending you against daily stress.
