Stuck in a Rut?

Plateaus in weight loss often happen when our bodies become use to the exercises we do or even the caloric limitations we set on ourselves. Our bodies have an incredible ability to adapt to stresses placed upon it such as not having enough food or having to conserve energy.

Variety is key: Spice up your workout routine in intensity and or time allotments. Go even further by trying a new workout routine. It is good to have a favorite schedule to follow but it is even more important to make sure there is variety present, as this will help assist in reducing or eliminating that plateau.

Monitoring caloric intake: Remember if you increase your physical activity it will be important to properly sustain your energy with efficient and healthy fuel. Just because you add more intensity or time onto your workout doesn't mean it gives you the go ahead to 'treat' yourself to those high caloric foods.
