Weight Management, Inc. Achieves Gold Standard Award for Excellence!
Dr. Lawrence Stifler, Ph.D., president and founder of HMR (Health Management Resources) presents the 2010 Gold Standard Award to staff members Jasen Lawrence and Christina Lawrence.

Thanks to the hard work of all our patients and staff, we are pleased to announce that the Weight Management, Inc. recently received the 2010 HMR Gold Standard Certificate of Achievement. This award distinguishes WMI from hundreds of clinics nationwide that are using the HMR weight-loss program. Dr. Lawrence Stifler, Ph.D., founder and president of HMR personally handed out the certificate at a recent training the staff attended in Florida.

HMR recognizes programs that demonstrate excellence in performance and patient care by presenting Gold Standard Certificates annually to selected clinics. The criteria for the awards include such variables as group attendance, compliance with the imperatives, weight loss success rates, and weight maintenance success rates. HMR clinics nationwide submit clinical data in these areas. The top programs are then awarded the Gold Standard Award for excellence within these different categories.

It’s clear you are committed to better health management!

New Published Study Shows HMR Dieters Can Lose Big and Save Big

No doubt about it…spending your hard earned money on a weight loss program IS an investment. But as many successful HMR dieters have discovered, investing in a lifestyle focused, high quality program like HMR can ultimately save you a lot of money.

Several studies have shown that diets using meal replacements (like HMR) are more effective and less expensive than “free choice” diets. Most recently, a 2010 published study showed that patients can save a significant amount of money while losing weight with HMR. Data from the study are combined averages of all patients.

$29.00 a week saved on food budget.
$1,460 saved on medications in the first year, with greater savings each additional year.
Further savings can result from all of the money never spent on obesity-related complications and medications that are avoided by living a healthy lifestyle.

Bottom line: As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Investing in a results-oriented program like HMR now, is an investment for your future!

Exercise as a Brain Changer

The connection between exercise and weight management has always been obvious. What might not be as obvious is the extraordinary impact that exercise has on improving brain function and brain health.
More and more research now shows that exercise enhances brain development, improves mental health, reduces addictive behavior, and helps maintain mental acuity as we age. (Wow!)

In fact, according to Dr. John Ratey, clinical associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, “Exercise is the single most powerful tool you have to optimize brain function.” To learn more about the life altering, positive “side effects” of exercise, visit Dr. Ratey’s website, and then go lace up your sneakers!
