More Published Research Show HMR is the Diet Winner!

A new published study shows dieters in the Healthy Solutions® Program lost an average of 30.2 pounds vs. 1.5 pounds for dieters in a control group. The 24-week study included 16 weeks in weight loss and 8 weeks in maintenance.

The dieters who lost only 1.5 pounds met periodically with a dietitian for counseling and diet recommendations. Those on the Healthy Solutions plan participated fully in the program: attended weekly classes, kept food records, and had weekly phone calls with their health educator. They also followed the Healthy Solutions diet, eating a minimum of five HMR meal replacements and five servings of fruits and vegetables each day, and burning 2,000 exercise calories each week.

It's clear that the structure and accountability that's built into the HMR Program, combined with the use of meal replacements, can make a BIG difference on the scale!

New Year, New Reason to Switch It Up for Better Fitness

If you want different results, you’ve got to do something different. Challenge yourself to try at least one new way to exercise. Who knows… it may become part of your new routine! Here are some ideas:

“Apeeling” Reason to Eat the Whole Fruit and Vegetable

Many skins, peels, and stalks of fruits and vegetables are not only packed with vitamins and fiber, but they could also fight cancer and boost energy levels. You may already eat the peels and skins of apples, grapes, cucumbers, eggplant, tomato, and zucchini. That’s a good start! Here are a few more to try:

Potatoes
pack much of their nutrition in the skin. (You get half the daily recommended intake of soluble fiber, potassium, iron, phosphorous zinc and vitamin C in just one 8 ounce spud.)

Squash is high in zinc, which is great for skin and hair health, and beta-carotene which is known to protect against heart disease and cancer. The skins of squashes are too tough to eat, but if you scrape out the flesh as close to the skin as you possibly can, you gain the nutritional benefits from the skin.

Citrus Fruits like oranges and tangerines pack more antioxidants in their peels than their pulp. Citrus peels can lower bad cholesterol. Add some grated orange or lemon peel into your foods for added flavor. (Try it in an HMR Shake, Multigrain Hot Cereal, or Savory Chicken Entree!)

Quick Tip
JANUARY is Resolutions Month

Lose weight. Eat better. Exercise more. Resolutions are great, but following through on those promises can be a whole other story. The best way to ensure your resolution success is to make sure your goals are realistic. About.com suggests that realistic goals should meet the criteria of the ”Five P’s:”

  •  Positive
  •  Precise
  •  Prioritized
  •  Planned
  •  Performance-based

If losing weight and getting healthier is on your resolution list, then come to where you know the dieting is quick, affordable, and effective! Compared to published data from other commercial diet programs, HMR's published data show you can get two times more weight loss, in less than half the time (Lancet 2011, JAMA 2010, Postgrad Med 2011). Unlike other programs, HMR diets:

  • Work quickly
  • Keep you losing weight week after week
  • Provide intensive lifestyle coaching for long-term health and weight management

We can help you lose the weight you want while practicing simple healthier lifestyle strategies that you can use for life. Call today to get started!
